eubassix
Was keen to keep this, but as a seldom used/required 4-string, it seems a bit of a waste. It's by far the best and nicest Fender/other Jazz-4 I've had: build quality, finish and playability/tone are all exceptional. There's been one recently sold on BC :- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=121275&hl= and another - possibly unsold (at that price!) - on ebay :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Specifications:- Fender Custom Shop Limited Editon 1970 Jazz Bass 2-piece premium ash body Quartersawn maple neck with '70s "U" shape and gloss urethane finish Maple fingerboard with 7.25" radius (184mm) 20 medium jumbo frets 2 Vintage Jazz Bass single-coil pickups Bridge pickup 1/4" closer to bridge Volume, volume, and master tone controls American Vintage Jazz Bass bridge Vintage-style reverse tuning machines Nickel/chrome hardware 3-ply white pickguard Custom Shop Limited Edition decal White neck binding Closet Classic treatment: small dings, checked finish, oxidized hardware and aged plastic parts Weight is 9.25 lbs. As shown in the photos, it's still in 'mint' (but slightly 'aged') condition and comes with all the originally supplied bits. The Limited Edition Custom Shop Basses are rarer than standard Custom Shop models - seems only 100 of these were produced. That (might) make them ultra-collectable ... but it's best played! SOLD!!! warwickhunt
IMHO that's a terrible 'Gallery' pic for your Bacchus Dave! Looks like a blurred pic of a close-up of the side of a piece of old furniture.
warwickhunt
IMHO ... you're totally right John! That was one of the 'last' pictures selected (to show a close-up of the grain), but no matter what order you enter them, the photos just seem to re-arrange themselves ?! I've redone it now (x3 attempts) and the full bass is now no.1, but it's still disorganised (by ebay, not me!)
I see. I thought that you had inadvertently selected that one as your preferred #1 shot... thought it was a bit odd but reasoned that maybe you hadn't checked your listing. birdy
I think this bass used to be mine and if so its a very good bass that had a great low action. Steve Edited March 8, 2011 by birdy
zigmondo
Fair point Steve...mind you, bubinga is generally a polite and knowledgeable soul who loves basses: I'm understanding the smilies as reflecting a degree of frustration, sort of a "awbugger, wish I could afford it" ....? (just trying for the codependent fix here!
