Dave Holden Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 (edited) Hey Folks! I have decided to sell my Yamaha TRB6II. I love this bass but I just don't have a use for a 6 string at the moment. I have had it for about 7 months and bought it off a basschatter who had taken great care of it. There is only one small dink at the bass of the body near the strap pin which hopefully you can see clearly in the photos. It's currently strung with Ernie Balls slinkys. It comes with a gig bag and gold schaller style straplocks. http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c82/todg...e/YAMAHA%20TRB/ I'm looking for £600. Comes with a hard case now!! Will post the bass at buyers expense I live in North West London or I can meet up in London somewhere no problem Any questions please ask Thanks, Dave Edited August 17, 2011 by Dave Holden
Chris Horton Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 (edited) This is a great bass and Dave is a top bloke to deal with what bass are you after next ? P bass with a r/w fingerboard? Edited March 3, 2011 by Chris Horton

I don't understand why yamaha would stop making these. The 1005 and 1006 range are good but the older models are just so much better. Cheers
Cairobill Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 morning is this the one with the 35 inch scale? Do you know the date of manufacture? Also, how much does it weigh? Cheers, Nick
Dave Holden Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011
morning is this the one with the 35 inch scale? I'm not sure on the exact weight as I dont have any scales at home but I've found it comfortable having gone from playing a 4 string bass to this. I've had some interest from a basschatter and I was saying to him that I have been happy to play 2x45 minute sets without any problem at all. The serial number is 9FN2163 so I believe thats 1999. I'm not clear on how to read them but that's what I've found out from research. I hope this helps. Here is some more info on the bass from the yamaha website http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-ins...6ii/?mode=model Cheers mate Dave
chuck_stones Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Hot damn, that is one sweet, sweet bass. I missed the opportunity to grab one of these on evilBay a couple of years ago for just shy of £700 and I've been kicking myself ever since. If I had the cash.... Bump for a beautiful bass at a great price.
Stag Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 wow, great bass for great price again on BC! If I was a 6-string man id love one like this...
Dave Holden Posted March 16, 2011 Author Posted March 16, 2011
These are very good basses good tone and playability, also nice solid feel to them - I have one and they are a great first 6 string bass and you can still be happily playing them after you have become a hardened pro. Best of luck with the sale - how's EUB working out by the way. Hope the course is going well.
Hey! Thanks for the bump! Yeh these are great basses, shame I'm not using it really. The Stagg is doing great and the course is going really well at the moment. Its hard work but I'm staying on top of things. I hope you are well!
lucatus Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) Hi there, I definitively agree, these were amazing basses, I had one with 5 strings and it was the best purchase I ever made. I´m not a 6 string person, but would you consider trade this one for a Fender Precision American Deluxe?Have a look. Photobucket For what I read earlier, I´m afraid it´s not rosewood and it´s not fretless... Cheers.
