Lotusmark2
Hi all I am playing a 5 string circa 84 B105 Washburn along with Les Paul guitars etc and I am looking for a 4 string fast neck low and heavy kind of a bass under £500. Suggestions on what to go try out please, oh and I do like "angry looking" bass's lol Cheers All Mark

Lotusmark2
Not my style, being 6ft 8" and 300 lbs More seriously, been looking at the Ibanez Iceman 300 etc PS, been playing 30 years, so I know I need to go and play, but with two young kids time is a premium Edited March 3, 2011 by Lotusmark2
Lozz196
Epiphone T-Bird - either the Gothic or Nikki Sixx Blackbird version? Won`t look out of place on someone of your height & build, nice fast neck, and lots of deep power, due to mahogany body and the two soap-bar pickups. And look pretty evil too. Jamesrt2004
Something of the Schecter variety would suit !! Great fast fretboard! Lots look evil but equally really nice too..

SignsOfDelirium_bassist
ESP/LTDs generally have had nice necks on the ones I've played...Shame you're not interested in a 5, or I'd try an sell you my LTD
xgsjx
Ibanez have very thin fast necks & a great range of tones. I would try before buying tho incase the neck doesn't suit you.

Gust0o
Dig out an old Charvel. You won't regret it at all. I could let mine go for £500, I suppose

SignsOfDelirium_bassist
I've got a (now discontinued) LTD F 405FM...It's a great bass, just not the look I'm going for anymore sadly. Cost about 750-800 new I think, can't remember. It's sorta spikey, got a cool tribal inlay running down the whole fingerboard Sounds dark too, mahogany body with EMG pups and EQ. This is the one, can't find pics of me one, but it's the same model http://www.mveducation.com/assets/products/47106_l.jpg
gjones
Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass with the thinnest fastest neck known to man. Secondhand it usually goes for under £500 looks the part and sound fantastic too. But don't take my word here's the man himself playing the thing
Doddy
As (from the other thread)you seem to like pointy basses.............. http://www.theacademyofsound.co.uk/Bass_Gu...Maple_Fretboard Bargain. garethfriend
Ibanez BTB fits the bill, about the fastest neck I've played and sounds like it would suit perfectly.
Lotusmark2
I headed down to PMT in Manchester today and had a noodle around on a few bass's and as usual, the ones that I thought would be spot on were not even close and I had a new contender come from nowhere The Ibanez ICB300EX Iceman totally blew me away, the fastest neck I played by a mile and the sound was so versatile, from dark punch to high sparkle, it did it all without falling over, it just sounded and felt TIGHT! Also enjoyed the Epi T bird, next feel but not as versatile (will still get one in the future) I would have bought the 300 there and then, but they only had a rather bruised display model to offer so looks like I'l be looking around the web tonight
Mikeg
ibanez has my vote. Very thin neck's and the BTB's will definately not look small on you.
MuckedUpFunkies
Traben EVERY time IMO. I've still got a Neo Limited (FS/FT) from my old metal days and not once did it disappoint. Its got the looks, the punch and a very resonable price tag even when new
TomTom
Dont fancy a Gold maverick S4 do you? it fits the bill.
