Clarky
I recently bought a bass with both fretless and fretted necks (see Gear Porn and look for '71 Fender P/J for what became of it). The fretted neck was taken from an American Vintage 1962 Jazz Reissue (inc tuners) and appears to be dated Sep 2001 on the sticker on the back of the heel. Aged nicely and only missing the little metal cup on the rear of the headstock that allows you to hang these up. £200 plus postage please. Clarky
PMs replied to. Prompted by these I will add the neck is quite chunky, not like a skinny 70s J neck, and so is very comfortable for a Precision player like me. Also the frets are in good condition and the truss rod turns fine. The only thing I would add though is that the truss rod is tightened to the max to get the action low on the strings I was using (Pyramid flats 45-105) so you might need to shim the truss rod screw with a nut if you wanted to use heavy gauge strings, like Jamerson flats or Steve Harris flats. Clarky
Neck is provisionally sold without tuners. So anyone for a set of ten year-old Fender tuners?
