TenLetters
I have been looking at picking up a zoom r16 but the fact there are only two channel with phantom power could prove limiting in the long run. I was thinking of just using external pre amps if and when I want to use more mic's that need phantom power. I know this will add a bit of expense but im guessing it could also improve the quality of recording? The flip side I guess is that it is another gain stage in the recording chain so could just add noise and sound worse. The other option is to just go for the r24 which has more phantom power channels. If I do go the r16/more pre amps route is there any that people could recommend at a reasonable price? So far I have only ever recorded with a small interface and one mic so knowledge is a little lacking here! Cheers,
