What year with Fender Jazz bass

Hi all I was wondering if some one can tell me what year did Fender start using block inlsy on the Jazz finger board & what year did the stop the block inlay? thanks

Blocks were around 1968-1980.

I thought that it was '68 as well.

I must admit that all '67s I've seen have been dot and usually bound, with '68s being block. But knowing Fender anything was/is possible!

Now I'm even more confused..... all I know for certain is my '69 has blocks

I think part of the confusion is down to an almost total lack of '67s.

I can't remember seeing a block '66, but maybe they were introduced later in the year..

Definately latish 66. I had a 66 with blocks.

Late to Mid 1966 for blocks.
Which is why there are also 1966 Jazz basses with 'bound & dot' necks - from earlier in the year...
