franzbassist Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I'm pretty sure blocks started the second half of 1966. Quote

woodenshirt Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I thought that it was '68 as well. I must admit that all '67s I've seen have been dot and usually bound, with '68s being block. But knowing Fender anything was/is possible! Now I'm even more confused..... all I know for certain is my '69 has blocks Mart Quote
wateroftyne Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I think part of the confusion is down to an almost total lack of '67s. I can't remember seeing a block '66, but maybe they were introduced later in the year.. Quote
birdy Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Definately latish 66. I had a 66 with blocks. Steve Quote

Steve[/quote] Late to Mid 1966 for blocks. Which is why there are also 1966 Jazz basses with 'bound & dot' necks - from earlier in the year... Quote
