Ian Savage Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 As a child of the 80s, mine is likely to be considerably cheaper yet considerably more tasteless. This would probably be typical: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1980-B-C-Rich-Mockin...=item2eb03781d7 although I'd happily jump this one's bones: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RICKENBACKER-4001S-B...=item2a0e9216ed Quote

Muzz Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I've never seen the only thing I'd completely bust the bank for - an Apr 64 Precision with a maple board. Not even sure such a thing exists... Quote

KiOgon Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Born in 1951 don't leave me much choice I won't get a January 51 neck date unless it's a prototype, so I'm happy with this: Quote

BigRedX Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 1960. There's a couple of things I might be interested in from Mosrite and maybe an original shape Gibson EB0, but since everything I play these days requires 5-sting basses there's nothing from 1960 that I'd actually use. Quote

Mine is this way round:
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it looks better the "wrong" way round. Got grief for that when I sold my 51 RI. It's cruel that if you're born after 1980 you can get a birth year bass reasonably cheap, but can't justify it due to student debt, mortgage, family, while those of us who are past all that can't afford it because the good ones are so horribly expensive.
