Seriously cool :) - I used to have the guitar version of the white one, with 3 p/ups and the on-board active boost/FX

You probably have to be Scottish to get this.

edit - Pants! It took so long to find the pic you'd already corrected it. :)

Great to see them - the white one is what my first ever bass was based on, made by my Dad & me in 1964/5.

I was born in 1976.
Not a great time/period for Fender but I went onto G Base and typed in 1976 bass... In amongst the lists was this below. Sold!
Just googled 1987 bass guitar and I got a Kubicki ex-factor and a Thumb NT. What a great year to have been born!
Coincidentally, I own an 87 Thumb NT.

However, being born in 1957, I had to wait for 30 years to get a really good bass.

1957 - the year that Fender redesigned the foul-looking Tele-based Precision to the most-copied-of-all-time
P bass shape that everyone knows

The year that Rickenbacker introduced the 4000 which I find unplayable

Gibson had been producing the EB-1 for three years by this time

and for some reason actually continued to do so for many more years.

1991

not a great year for bass

1972... unsurprisingly it has to be this... i still go weak at the knees at the sight of this beauty.

Unlike Si, I don't have this or have it for sale. One day I will have it though. :)

That is bad ass.

Brilliant. Now I want want a birth year bass. Mine is 1984, for the record.

Quelle surprise.
