hellothere Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 What are really good basses that can be bought for really cheap? Oddities especially. Also what are good places to find bargains? Car-boot sales? Quote
lemmywinks Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I usually find the FS section here or eBay the best bets for bargains. On here recently there was a Tanglewood Warrior (Warwick-style) for £80, not so long ago there was a Vox for about £70. EBay turns up some silly bargains too, just a case of persevering and wading through the inevitable mire of junk. Quote
lemmywinks Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011
collection only Auctions somewhere handy.
This too. Set up a search for anything with the word "bass" in it and specify "nearest first". That way you'll get all wrongly listed auctions, along with a ton of fishing stuff and car/DJ sound systems! Also worth having the occaisional look for "base". Quote
TRBboy Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Yamaha RBX270 is virtually unbeatable for the money, easy to hotrod too. I bought one for £70 off Gumtree last year and did it up. have a look http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...A3200+bass+ever? Blademan_98 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I got my Yamaha 5 string fretless off here for £80. Bargain. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I think a lot of stuff from China & Indonesia is really good these days. Some players will turn their noses up because it's not USA made leaving great bargains for the rest of us. I played a great Aria Mosrite copy recently and I am also thinking of the cheap Hofner stuff that comes from China Quote

I really like the look of it, and for £185, looks a bargain Quote
Cat Burrito Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Yes it was & it's an absolute steal at that price. My mate had one in his shop & I was sorely tempted but have enough basses. His was set up really well so you just couldn't fault it. Quote
megallica Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Some of the 90's Bass Collection basses will find their way onto ebay from time to time, IMO they're well worth a look. As they're not exactly a household name, they don't command a great deal of interest. Quote
HADGE Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 HI I BOUGHT A YAMAHA RBX 270 FOR £70 FANTASTIC VALUE FOR MONEY Quote
