chrismuzz
A defect bass that never passed quality control... yet plays like a dream, and is instantly recognizable as a genuine vintage instrument... AND was able to have a production date estimated? No comment
karlfer
Love the very even wear (pretty much every note on the board) from fretting , even though the frets themselves look quite good . Karl.

The Bass Doc
This has got to be 100% original and vintage and I should know as I'm an exerpt on vintage Finder bases. I actually met the legendery Lionel Colin Fender in 2003 and can verify that he told me himself that every bass he made was just as this happens so she must be correct. I am Morethan Semen..........thank you for listening.

wmsheep
Right, now I`m on the right thread, think I`ll add "hang on a sec, the neck was sub standard so it wasnt stamped, the body was also sub standard and wasnt stamped, and the pots were also sub standard and weren`t... oh, you know the rest!!! yet they STILL put a serial number on the neckplate?? nothing wrong with that. In fact, as anyone who has ever owned a mid 70`s Leyland car will verify, it`s perfectly normal!!"

cytania
Can anyone tell me why in a private listing eBay don't show seller identities? It's just gone to £510 in a couple of big £100 jumps. Am I a suspicious old codger?
warwickhunt
Can anyone tell me why in a private listing eBay don't show seller identities? It's just gone to £510 in a couple of big £100 jumps. Am I a suspicious old codger?
There are two sides to the argument re. lack of visible bidder identities on 'Private' listings. On the positive - it stops unscrupulous (scumbags) contacting your bidders and offering them an identical item for less money or to offer them an identical item for a set price; this happened to me lots when I sold non-music related items on ebay and it's bliddy annoying when you pay fees to sell your stuff and other sellers just came along and poached your bidders/potential buyers. I know for a fact that this happened as I had bidders ask if I would remove their bids as they'd been contacted by 'xyz' and they had offered them an identical item at a good price! On the downside, you have no idea if there is shill bidding going on!

jezzaboy
The chap he bought it from said it was a defect bass. Was this the same Chinese guy who was selling the bootleg porno dvd`s at the same time and he got a discount? I love the way he can tell it was a vintage and genuine item as soon as he played it. Someone is gonna be so ripped off. And you would think that after spending all that time with a Dremmel on the board, they would have got a genuine looking Fender decal.
