crumpet_tramp
to anyone who thought the new fender range was a it of let down, just been on the ibanez website and their new bass range is complete pooh! no sr900 but a horrible bright yellow replacement, the EDB range has only got the jazz pickups in it and to top it all of the BTB has gone all peculear looking! feel free to disagree/agree with me! The Burpster
Fender range a let down? That P 5 is sooo bad I'm ordering one.....!
Machines
I really like the new neck through BTBs, but the price has gone up significantly (they're about £600). The attraction of them before was the fact they were so cheap and good value.. I expect these ones are fantastic too but at that price they won't shift as many. thedontcarebear
I'm liking the new BTB and the new SR too.
kevbass
The new BTB's look great, nice to see they lost the nasty satin silver hardware in favour of some decent looking burnt chrome

crumpet_tramp
pehaps on second glance they are a bit better! still think the SR900 was better! i'm sorry about being overly critical of the new fender range, i just thoght that it wasn't new enough! the P is looking good though! whilst tlaking bout fender does anyone know of a fender jazz that has a 3 band active EQ? and i mean idential to a jazz! Shifrin
I was looking at a similar thread over at TalkBass, seems they're getting a SR-535 over there in the US... She's sure purrty Si.

SJA
is it me or have they got the" trad" and "attack" ATK clips the wrong way round? attack is parallel, so should sound like a stingray, but it's the trad clip that does instead? NancyJohnson
I got all interested in the new ATKs, but feel they need to put out a five-string in something other than a natural finish. Now a black one, with a black scratchplate and a rosewood/ebony board would look very saucy. P
bnt
The old BTB 4-strings looked (to me) like 4-string necks on 6-string bodies; the new ones look a bit more balanced, esp. the BTB670.
geilerbass
I've seen a bass called the SR20th on sale at a few places, but it doesn't appear to be on the Ibanez site. Anyone know the deal with that? It looks like a reissue of the SR3005, which I recall being an amazing instrument. If that was in the range, that would make things so much better... Jono Bolton
It is - It's based very heavily on one of the '60s Ibanez original designs: This new Ibby came up recently here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8594 Jon.
I must have it! But I'd get rid of the horrible 2+2 headstock, and stick a nice Fender-type on it. A rosewood one, with block inlays! Oh God, I'm getting ideas!
