It's as much about getting rid of stuff you don't need anymore (even if it's not that big) as reducing the size of large files. The forum has been here 4 years, that's plenty of attachments. While it's great to have an archive of threads to show changes over the years I picked out a random thread from back then, one post had 4 pics; each one being 800 pixels wide. Couldn't such threads just be deleted? Or maybe have a heads up that such threads have served their purpose & can go? Personally I use Photobucket, & resize all my pics to a max of (IIRC) 360 pixels wide; which is one of Pb's default settings for message board images. As they are just ASCII text and use tiny amount of space in comparison to images, deleting them wouldn't get much disk space back nor delete the attachments from peoples uploads either, just from visibility . Seriously though, it's definitely worthwhile trawling your attachments from time to time. One thing I've noticed is that I have favourite photos which I tend to use in a variety of threads.
