Clarky
I bought this MarkBass combo for roughly £500 from BC'er alanbass1 late last year as I wanted a combo that would double up for electric and double bass. However, in the event I have decided I want a specific DB rig as that is my only gig at present ... and I recently acquired an Acoustic Image Contra from Beedster. The latter had its first road run last night at Rattlin Bone's gig at the 12 Bar in Tin Pan alley and passed with flying colours. Hence I don't need the MarkBass combo after all. Its in very good condition indeed (as my punk band is 'resting' it was only used on two DB gigs and a couple of rehearsals by me in the last 4-5 months) and has a fitted Silverstone cover. Here is alanbass1's FS thread with a pic: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=CMD121P After buying the combo I bought the perfectly stacking NY 12 inch cab (£485; http://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-guitar-amp...12-bass-cab.asp ) around 3 months ago which has never even left my house and barely been played through (I would say its had less than 5 hours playing time and 1 hour of that was chris_b testing out my old TC head!). Basically its completely as new. Unlike combo it does not have a cover. It makes a very neat (and loud) 2x12 combo when placed under the CMD121P combo. The two cost me about a grand, added together, and are both in amazing condition. How about £850 for the both, collected/meet-up in West London (near Hammersmith)? Clarky
Will sell individually, incidentally, but would prefer to sell as an entire rig. £475 for combo, £400 for cab and a £25 discount if you buy both together Given their size and my lack of large enough boxes I cannot ship, so it's collection/meet up only. By the way the new price for this setup would be £1327 at the cheapest online retailer I can find (DV247), excluding the c£40 Silverstone cover, so this is a near 40% saving for a virtually as-new, lightweight quality rig. Clarky
A rubbish pic taken in my dingy study but hopefully shows the fantastic condition of this rig:
machinehead
I had the combo only and it was good enough for small pub gigs. Lovely sound too. I'd imagine this setup would be able for most gigs easily. What an utter bargain. I envy the lucky buyer. Frank.
Clarky
Thanks Frank! This package is essentially priced at the level of a new CMD121P combo alone so you get an ungigged/unrehearsed pristine 12" extension cab (costing £485) thrown in for good measure. Bump! PS, I assume by mention of combo, you wouldn't be wanting the extension cab? Edited March 15, 2011 by Clarky
mikegatward
Correct - have got a couple of purple chilli 1x12's which would so the job nicely so just the combo I'm interested in
Clarky
Combo now on hold for a few days (potential buyer expects funds in from sale by end of week) The cab is in completely pristine condition and has less than 5 housrs playing time, all at home. Its sat, unconnected, underneath the combo. You would not be able to tell it from a brand new cab and you get to save £85 (17.5%) off the new price. MartyBRebelMC
This is exactly what i use and would say it makes a superb mini rig with a very small footprint, making it ideal for tight spaces i.e. most of the pubs i end up playing! To anyone out there with a 121P - I would certainly recommend the NY121 cab as it gives you a 500w rig with enough headroom to deal with pretty well any gig where you're just using back-line amplification. Martin
Thanks Martin! Have only had interest so far in the combo but i guess, in today's cash constrained environment, thats not surprising. The cab is a superb match, as you say, and the only one in the MB range that stacks perfectly below the CMD121P combo
