xilddx
We are playing live at the - Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre as part of the ALCHEMY Festival on Sunday April 17th · 2:00pm-6:00pm and it's FREE ENTRY It would be great to see some of you there. The single that just Krupa just launched - RIDICULOUS BOY RUNNING ORDER: 14.05 - 14.50: SUMUDU 15.00 - 15.45: NADINE SHAH 15.55 - 16.40: KRUPA 17.00 - 17.45: RENU Hosted by The BBC One Show's ANITA RANI, this packed mixed-bill event celebrates the emergence in recent years of a new and exciting phenomenon - the female British Asian songwriter. Influenced by a wide range of musical genres, from Folk and Indie to RnB and Pop, they destroy stereotypical notions of what it is to be 'Asian and an artist'. Despite their combined mix of Indian, Sri Lankan, Pakistani and Bengali heritage their music ...is not aimed at a traditional audience. Featuring NADINE SHAH's dark tales of love and loss, the 80s-tinged electro pop funk of KRUPA, alongside the Joni Mitchell-esque voice and melodies of SUMUDU, and RENU's cinematic journeys through unrequited love, death and sex in London, this event is sure to thrill, challenge and surprise you in equal measures. Leave your preconceptions at home - and maybe your auntie too. pete.young
That's a very intriguing clip and refreshingly different to a lot of the crap bombarding the airwaves at the moment. Good luck with the gig. If I weren't playing in Ipswich I'd come along.
Hey thanks man. We checked and the route doesn't go near the Southbank Centre so it should be ok. We were a bit concerned about this too. Cheers. xilddx
What a cracking gig! Staff at the QEH were totally professional, we had a great sound and a nice big stage. About 250 very responsive people in the audience, and we sold all our 30 promo EPs. Superb feedback from people afterwards too.
