Clearly they haven't realised this is a classic, not a regular ray. Pick your self up a bargain for £1000!

Only £92 cheaper than this example though;

By the time you add shipping, VAT & duty you'll barely save £150 over Uk street price.

+1 With the shipping and taxes etc. you'd be so close to the price of a new bass, that it'd be daft taking the risk on an ebay bass that is used!

Soundslive have the Classic in stock for £1629... but there's something distinctly mind-bending about the pic of the 4 string on their website! :)

Anyone got any idea what the costs are to ship a guitar back to the UK using Fed-Ex or DHL?

By those particular couriers I was quoted $450-$500 for a Sterling to be shipped in a hardcase from the USA to UK... cost of adequate insurance doesn't help matters as you are taxed on the shipping costs and insurance!

Jesus - any other cheaper options that you could recommend?

Can't remember if it is UPS or more likely USPS that are cheaper but unfortunately the insurance is worse than Parcel Farce!

I'm sure there are cheaper couriers especially if the person shipping has a contract with the courier in The States but tbh buying off ebay from The States is a hit/miss affair and I'd not be happy about the possibility of being under insured or stiffed with carriage fees and taxes.
