Truckstop
As per the title and topic description, anyone know whether these are any good? pantherairsoft
Interesting concept... I can't think when I've ever needed or wanted to roll to a different end of the passive tone dial on a passive bass mid song before though...
Truckstop
Well, as it costs the same as the standard volume pedal, I was thinking it might be a useful tool to have. Maybe use it as a kind of wah in conjunction with a chorus or something. Hopefully someone'll turn up in a minute and let us know if they don't work or whatever! GarethFlatlands
Looked at one a while ago but read some bad reviews about bad tone suckage so never tried one. Shame as it would be a cheaper alternative to the usual EB volume pedal. Like most people I ended up with the EB!
Wud
I'm a bit unsure of how durable the mechanism used to enable you to go up/down as well as left/right would be long term.
OzMike
Look here for gut shots + a schematic: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showth...-guts-inside%29 Doubts: - reliability (all them strings and springs make for a complex mechanism) - appropriateness for bass (in terms of the 'tuning' of the lowpass circuit) - will always attentuate your signal i.e. 'suck tone', even when set to max / most trebly sound More trouble than it's worth, IMHO. keeponehandloose
These are great-a big hit with steel guitar players. They were originally around in the late 40s I think and original ones go for silly money. They are built really well & a mate has gigged one for years no problem. Not sure how much use they are for bass though..
Truckstop
Hmmm, I was thinking that they'd probably be more useful for guitar than bass, Anyway, thanks for your inputs everybody! Alex
