They were gracious together. The P was a Bravewood with a 63P scratchplate. It completely scratched all the same itches as my 66J. I could happily live with a Bravewood Jazz instead of the 66J, but I cannot quite make the move to actually flog it. My wife has told me that I am not allowed to. The Bravewood also taught me that I do not like P nut widths so it went.

New addition,

Original 1961 Fender Jazz, Custom Colour, Olympic White, with some original stack knob case candy.

Here's my recently acquired Fullerton RI. Been through a lot, but definitely the only jazz that deserves my love (and I've had quite a few over the years).

A friend of mine has one of those in Sunburst, they really are a lot of bass for the money

Just finished this.

My Jazz with a one piece Alder body, finished in a lovely maple syrup coloured lacquer by Dave Wilson.
The neck is by Status Graphite, the pickups are SME hand wound, the pickguard is a brilliant material by Boston and was made to my template by Jack's Instrument Services. I made the copper control plate and side jack cover plate. The hardware is all Schaller vintage copper.
Sounds amazing.

Wow, that's unusual. Love the hardware. :)

My original `Jazz bass on a budget` has gone a little over budget since i built it, still basically the same but a Hipshot Transtone bridge, Wizard 84`s and the very recent addition of a J retro have added to the budget, im really tempted to get a Status neck for it as well next year for my 50th.

A new Harley Benton "decoration only" 75 J arrived yesterday from everyones favourite German musical instrument monolith... Plays great, sounds great with the Wilkinson pups and looks great... all £32 of it

That's just mad...

And it's your fault I've just bought a Deko Kahuna uBass clone... Hard not to when you're getting it for £39 delivered. The Aguila strings alone are £25-worth!

That BC deko thread is a dangerous place, I'm serving a self imposed ban from it at the moment, after I ordered the natural version of this jazz as well yesterday . Your right about the strings on those U bass copies, these Jazzes come strung with daddario nickles which are worth half the cost of the bass alone.

It's always a bit of a gamble as they are possibly going to be damaged beyond repair when they turn up, but I've only ever had fully playable instruments with slight cosmetic blemishes... or in this case (as with another I got a couple of weeks back) I cannot see for the life of me what is supposed to be wrong with it

These basses are obviously not in the same league as top end Fender / Sadowsky or the various super jazzes out there, but they really are perfectly reasonable instruments. We're I looking for a jazz as a gigging instrument I'd be hard pushed to justify the extra cost over these Harley Bentons, unless I was going top end or custom built.
