basshead56 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Updated last week. Bought 4 Jazz basses this year and sold 1. Pretty good net gain I reckon. Don't think I'll be buying another bass for a very, very long time... 9 Quote
Debagio Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 My very first bass arrived today: Squier Affinity Jazz Bass in charcoal metallic grey. Now the journey begins.. I am 50, it's definitely NOT a midlife crisis. 😁 13 Quote
BassAgent Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 That looks great! The Affinity series have improved massively in quality over the last few years so I'm sure you'll have an excellent time playing that. 1 Quote

My 15 year-old son already plays guitar, so he's had the first go (seeing as I am going to be learning from scratch). He likes it a lot, sounds good through the Eden Orbiter 10 amp I got with it. 😀 Quote

Used it on studio sessions plenty of times and it always does the job 👍 Welcome to the club! 2 Quote

I don't think you could have picked a better instrument for your journey.. 😃 1 Quote

AlexDelores Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 2004 MIM Jazz Standard. I Saved as a teenager for this, my first ‘proper’ bass. No matter what else I play, this one always feels like home. 7 Quote

It was really beaten up, I'd even used wood filler in places... But it sounded fantastic!! The colour is great too. 1 Quote
uk_lefty Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 I like jazz basses. And jazzmaster guitars. It's all got very Jazzy in here. NBD thread coming soon... 2 Quote

The bridge was replaced in about 2008 as the old one was ripping my hand to bits. But, the neck is superb and I’ve had many comments that it’s nicer than a lot of American Fenders much more experienced players have played. Although I’m not sure that’s saying much these days 😂 Quote
Seadunk Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) Made a couple of mods to my Squier Jazz. Changed the pickguard for a Pearloid one and added a fender High Mass Bridge. She lookin pretty if I do say so myself. Edited December 23, 2024 by Seadunk 6 Quote

I had Bartolinis in mine, sounded great. In very hot summers the neck moved a lot though and I ended up trading it in when buying a brand new Stingray. 1 Quote

Looks like a humbucker attached to a J pickup. 1 Quote

You'll get to know all the staff by name very soon, probably be in their Xmas card list for this year as well... Rob Quote
