my custom jazz 4 got a new pickguard, not everybodies but my taste, I love it. :D

Here's what happened to the body Krysh's neck came from...it got a fretless job installed by BassDoc! The Geddy body with Dimarzio Model J's and Schaller bridge marries beautifully with the new neck, looks kinda cool too in a very simple sort of way

My Fender Geddy / Mex Jazz Hybrid - Fender Geddy Lee body with MIM Fender neck.

Currently surplus to requirements so its for sale but if I don't sell it as a whole I may sell the neck and get myself a fretless neck which would be a shame as it goes together very well with a nice, snug fitting neck pocket

Being too much of a precision fan and owning a lot of P's I have rarely bothered to get a descnt Jazz and was not quite happy with them (a cij 62RI and a mex road worn), but last week i tried this Oly white US Standard and bought it in an impulse - sounds absolutely fantastic although I am still getting used to the narrow neck. Nevertheless it feels nice to join the Jazz club once again.

I have quite a few Jazzes... 5 in fact ;)

First up is my Fender Jazz from '66. Original except for 2 screws and the finish.

Next is my Celinder J Update 4 from 1998, built for Danish session player Thomas Skarbee and also owned by forum member Crazykiwi :)

Then there's my Blade B2 Tetra Bass, replaced the pickups with Nordstrands and the preamp with an Aguilar OBP-1.

And here's my Fender Standard Jazz Bass fretless. Replaced the pickups with Fender CS60's, put a Gotoh 201 bridge and black pickguard on it and had the fingerboard epoxied.

Finally my Lakland 55-60 Limited Edition Translucent White!

Here's my duo post cosmetic surgery:

They are both now essentially Fender CV's ;)

I swapped the maple neck from the black American special as I've always loved the olympic white/tortoiseshell combo. My CV is my go to bass and has been the culprit behind selling quite a few basses as it was a £200 investment which has gone a long way, so I figured why not take it further with a nice maple neck and a Schaller roller bridge. I can safely say that it could now easily make someone believe it's a proper Fender.

Just finished building a Fender Jazz based on the 1960 model.

80's Japanese E-series body, Wizard P/J Big Combo, Gotoh 201 bridge, MIM Jazz neck (refinished in nitro & with USA 62RI tuners), '62RI contol plate (vol/vol). Might add a b/w/b scratchplate at some point, might not! And will also eventually replace the neck with a Road Worn J Neck.

As I've been doing a bit of work on these over the holiday period, I decided to get them together for a Jazz family pic.

( Left to right)

MIJ 85/86 Unlined Fretless
Good substitute for the double bass tone rather than a usual fretless 'mwah'.

04/05 Marcus Miller in sunburst
Fitted with the East Marcus Retro 01. Great sound and has been my main gigging bass until.....

All original 1976 in natural.
Just love the sound of this one. Pure funk and pretty light for a 70's fender (under 10lb)

1999 Fender 'Mark king' Jazz (limited run of 42)
This one has seen some action prior to me getting it and is probably the least well made of all of them but good fun to use as my 'encore' bass at big gigs.

Fender Kingman Acoustic
It's been used for noodling at home.
