Paultrader Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 So long Jet. He had a special place in British pop history. His Precision bass must have been one of the first in the UK. Quote

purpleblob Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Commented on the other thread but what the hell. Sad news. I think Jet may well have been the first person I ever saw play bass guitar. RIP Quote
cetera Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Another one leaves us.... a bad year so far. RIP Jet Quote
Cat Burrito Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 It has been a bad year. I have a friend in New York State who is very active in his local Shadows club so I've forwarded this. RIP Quote
bumnote Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Made my first bass copied from the one on the first shadows album. Ive met him a few times as he has come and played at the local shadows club. A nice humerous genuine man. He had his share of demons over the years but he had got his act together for quite a few years. Sadly missed and I probably would have never picked up a bass if it wasnt for him. RIP Quote
karlfer Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 The Shads, iconic images from my childhood and very influential. RIP, you will be sadly missed. Karl. Quote

jezzaboy Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Very bad news. The first band I got into when I was 12ish was the shads and I still listen to them. One of the original bass guitar gods. Jez Quote
