prengel_basser
hey there! I bought an absolutely awesome Afterburner on ebay last year. I call it AB Custom because it not an AB I and not an AB II. Sheldon Dingwall told me that the bass was built for one of his employees, while he was waiting for his prima artist. He selected the nicest woods they had in stock. The Features: 4-string hipshot hardware with d-tuner Maple Neck Wenge Fingerboard AWESOME!!! Walnut Body clear gloss finish AAAAA- Flamed maple top Aguilar OBP-1 (the 2-band EQ) blue-eq FD-1 Pickups when I bought the bass, I was afraid, that the sound of the old FD-1 pickups (today they have different pickups: the FD-3) could be scooped in the mids. I didn´t wanted a scooped, clean and hifi sounding pickup. I´m a P-guy and love that mid-growl of a P-bass. I heard, that the FD-1 should sounfd more scooped and hifi, BUT when I played the bass the first time, I noticed that the pickups where just PERFECT! all the mid growl was there (especially on the neck pickup) and the pickups felt hotter than those in my AB II. So, I really have to say: I Iove that bass, I love that Pickups and I´m totally confused why they sound completely different to their description :?: BUT HEY! they sound awesome to me, so I´m happy! I play the neck pickup soloed most of the time. this is what you hear in the video. The bass is tuned C-G-C-F (from low to high). OOOH, and the video will prove that a dingwall is an excellent bass for Metal/Punk  so here are some pics + the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UL542LcQL1g
