luckman67 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I want to buy a wiring kit for my MIM Precision, from Axesrus I'm new to Fender Basses & there are two choices to make. The first is solid or split 250k pots,I presume I go for the solid shaft. Secondly the orange cap there are 3 to chose from, which one for a vintage / Traditional Precision sound Thank you. Quote

tommorichards Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Did it come without controls? Yeah 250k and a 0.047 drop cap. The orange. Quote

tommorichards Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Alright. Typically, you got the A250k's for the pots. And a nice big orange cap at 0.047 micro farads. Id also recommend as a little mod, to put in a control bypass switch. It literally bypasses all the knobs, and puts the pickups signal straight to the jack. Because of the tone cap in the path, even when full off, its going to take a few highs. The mod gives a tad more high end, and is pretty cool. This is mine with the mod (the switch at the bottom) Quote
