EBass
Hey all, I have a friend who is selling a Fender Musicmaster '78 bass. To be honest I don't have a clue what these basses are like and I was contemplating making an offer, is £200 for one in mint condition about right? I've looked for some information online and can't really find owt, so some info from the experts? Cheers much.
Mickeyboro
Well it's short scale so if you're after a Precision sound or 6'3" like me you won't get it. But for pop punk or prople with small hands £200 is a good price. And being a Fender it will be reslable for moer.

Jean-Luc Pickguard
£200 would be taking advantage. I'd expect a mint '78 to go for at least £400 on ebay.
Dr.Dave
I had one years ago , as a spare to take to gigs , but I found the shorter scale a prob swapping it about with a 34" P. It was fun , it would suit many folks , and it's a 70's Fender for not a mint. You might play it and love it. You say it's a 'friend' that's selling. Fair enough , but if it was an 'aquaintance' and I could get it for £200 I would , and sell it straight on for a bit more. £200 is what it's worth I reckon as an instrument (certainly £200 would get you a choice of better instruments) but because of the name and the vintage market it should be worth twice that without too much trouble and maybe a little more on a good day. Muppet
£350 is a reasonable price for a good condition model.
