Hello all, I'm Dave, I'm based in the North East of England, and have been playing for money since 1975. I currently play both guitar and bass, and can read dots, so get lots of cabaret/club things, mainly local. I hate bass amps as they are heavy, so have a tiny Line 6 with outs to PA, also a HD500 board, and if all else fails, a flip top old Ampeg Potaflex. But the main thing is the basses. Isn't it? I started on a Musicmaster and then a Mustang, and wish I'd kept them. Great basses for any style. Now I have this lot;

1954 P Bass (slab/blonde)
1958 P Bass (2-tone)
1964 Gibson EB-3
1964 Epiphone Rivoli
1966 Jazz (dot/bound)
1977 Music Man Stingray
1983 Music Man Cutlass 1
1990 Sadowsky J
2010 Sadowsky Will Lee

I'm selling the Sadowsky basses as they are too lively and active for me, I suppose I'm vintage minded for tone, my favourites being a Music Man and the '58 P Bass, everything with flat wounds for me. If it was good enough for Bernard Edwards, its good enough for me. When I was young, I saw Paul McCartney and wanted to get a bass. I heard Peter Green and got a guitar. I heard Andy Fraser, Glen Cornick, John Paul Jones and John McVie, and wanted to get a bass again. So I play both bass and guitar, and between them, do 100 gigs a year at the moment. Russ Stapleford and Herbie Flowers, and the great session players are my favourites. And the guys on the Trojan records stuff. Bass players are always nice guys, yes?

Dave, welcome :)

You can't post a list of great gear like that without posting pics! There's got to be a law against that?! :) I too am a big fan of old Fenders, flats and all things old school. There is a gear porn section here on BC. Please, please post some pics of that little lot. I'm sure there would be a lot of interest

Welcome to the forum. The rule around here is that without pictures, it didn't happen.

We all NEED to see pictures of your beautiful basses. We get off on things like that around here, sounds like you'll fit right in.
