I bought a set of XL half rounds to use on my fretless about a months ago and at first they sounded amazing but have very quickly lost their tone and I can actually see where I have been fretting against the string as it's very dull in those parts compared to the rest of the string.

Is this usual for these strings or did I get a duff set?
