And nice 5'er in your picture it looks just like mine
I just have... My SR5 is pretty much the same as yours - teal with birdseye maple neck - just almost 20 years older! matski
There's also a 1979 StingRay up for sale here in Poland for roughly £1400 (!) - from the pics it looks to be all okay, but there's a bit too much mojo for my tastes! stingrayPete1977
Seems a fair price to me especially for those who like a few scrapes here and there And the right case is worth a couple of quid IMO too.

stingrayPete1977
Its back with no reserve! Is this guy going to pay for my divorce if I end up buying it, My wife is still worried about me trying to buy it last time! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MEWAX:VRI I was the winning bidder with reserve not met last time and got a second chance offer at that price but didnt take it so I guess he has decided to let the public decide what its worth. Last time he didnt get straight back about the scratchplate but has now confirmed to me that its the correct one and white. 2 things still worry me well 3 actually 1-He says "No haggling" which is fair enough but he doesnt offer the questioner to come and try it out for himself, That would be my first reply if I were selling mine as thats when you really fall for a pre EB IME. 2-He says the 3 band EQ was already done when it was purchased 20+ years ago which would of made it a very early 3 band preamp at the time for a four stringer after the 5er got it from new in 87'. I would of thought that was a much more recent addition? 3-After talking down the grapevine with a certain top luthier he warned me that the very early ones did have some truss rod issues so without being able to fully test its operation he wouldnt touch it. Im still going to have a bid though (BTW if I had won it for £975 last time I would of honoured it sight unseen Im not an ebay idiot but as a second chance offer and the delay on some of the info I wasnt obliged to before anyone starts ) Edited April 10, 2011 by stingrayPete1977

martthebass
Agree Pete, don't think I'd buy a pre eb without trying it first, granted I've only played 5 or 6 to date but the variation surprised me.
