4 candles Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Just watchin some footage of Def Leppard concert 1988, Drummers only got one arm!!! plays more solid time than the drummer in my band!!,(who has 2 arms (and no sense of time!) are there any drummers better/as competent/able to read as well/play jazz? as versatile with one arm than 2 arms , or any one know of any bass players with one arm??? regards Mark Quote
mrtcat Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Check out bill clements on youtube. He's incredible and a total inspiration to all. There was also a christmas tune on this forum played by a chap with one arm. He outshone Mark King if I recall (floodgates open!!) Quote
tommorichards Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I know that travis barker played with 1 arm for a while after he broke it.... Quote
mrtcat Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Here's the crimbo tune I was talking about: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;hl=Christmas I gather def leppard chap uses plenty of pedals. I love tha fact that he not only play but he plays really well! Quote

Also if you listen he mostly plays straight beats although very tight and with a triggered 80's boing sound too Quote
Musky Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 It's got to be Moulty Moulton of The Barbarians! None of that triggered rubbish. Quote

All the more so since I listened straight after the anodyne, syrupy and humourless Mariah Carey version. Maybe if you cut off MK's slapping arm he'd be less polarising a musical figure. Quote
shinkicker Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I saw a band years ago called hamburger mary, the drummer only had one leg. To be honest they were crap though haha Quote

I met him at a gig we played, and he joined us on stage at the end. I didn't notice he was missing one arm. My wife was there and she remarked on it, and I went "what are you talking about??". I had even shaken hands with him and chatted for a bit. Didn't notice a thing. He was very good. Months later he became our drummer. Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 One handed drum fill is pretty cool: There is a one handed guitarist about, add in Ian Drury singing, with one tiny arm, and you have a band. Quote
