Playground_Martyr Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) I traded my Bongo for this not so long ago and whilst it's a VERY nice bass, the extra string is just not for me. I've come to the conclusion that I'm a 4 string guy through and through Anyway I've therefore decided to move this on to someone who will do this the justice it deserves. I hope Ryan doesn't mind but here is the link to the original advert http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...ingray+fretless The (edited) description below is also taken from there (I know I'm a lazy git!) Purchased in 1992 by the original owner this is a great example of a fretless five string Musicman Stingray. The original Pau Ferro fingerboard was changed in 1993 by John Diggins of JD to the current beautiful piece of Ebony with maple stained fret markers and high polish polyester finish. The fingerboard has been re-polished since it was originally fitted and the whole bass is in very good condition with no missing paint finish and no rust on the fittings. The back of the highly figured bird's eye maple neck has been finished in a high polish finish to match the fingerboard. The unique bass has a wonderful feel and tone due to the Ebony fingerboard. This bass comes with the original fitted hard case. Since I bought it it has not been out of the house and is in fantastic condition. It really does play lovely with that gorgeous ebony fingerboard. Price-wise I'm looking for £750. I'm interested particularly in a 4 string fretless Stingray or a Lakland Bob Glaub but feel free to drop me a line if you have something to offer. On to the pictures (now taken by myself) Edited May 19, 2011 by Playground_Martyr

ryancowell25 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I can vouch for the quality of this bass. If your even considering buying it then take the plunge and go ahead and treat yourself, you won't be dissapointed.

If not Bump (airline travel slang for the removal of passengers from an overbooked flight) And surely when you say D tuner you really mean an A tuner.(just kidding) Edited April 4, 2011 by wal4string
martthebass Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Amazed there isn't more love for this, Ray5's are great in fretless form. Only sold mine because I'm crap on 5s; replaced it with a very nice Ray4 fretless, however IMHO the Ray5 fretless sounded better!

Why don't you swap it for Damo200's 20th Anniversary Stingray fretless 4, then he can trade your 5 for my Pedulla Pentabuzz, then I still have a lovely fretless 5 string and enough cash to buy a Promethean 210 combo, we all get what we want and everybody's happy!
