Doddy Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I like it,but either the back of the body should be coloured or the neck shouldn't be. Quote
TRBboy Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 It's ok but not really my cup of tea, plus I bet I could probably buy about 6 decent basses for the cost of it. Does anyone know how much these are? I found a thread on an american forum from 3 years ago which said they're about $9k! Quote
MikanHannille Posted March 26, 2011 Author Posted March 26, 2011 From the site where I found this doesn't say how much. It only says "Please ask for price". Quote
Grand Wazoo Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) It is a part of their artist "private stock" series designed for Gary Grainger and I don't think you can get it for less than 7 grand if you are so inclined. juice Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Whilst I generally like the GG basses this one has to be the fugliest they've made I think with a different neck it would be 1000% nicer Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 They nearly got it right! If I subjected it to my "de-crassifier", the following changes would be made; BLACK hardware. Natural neck, but body-colour matched headstock front face Lose the scratchplate! Quote
The Burpster Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) Its a private stock so someone spec'd it like that - Dont blame the 'shop for making it, blame the odd person that wanted it like that.... Isn't this the one that was for sale on Thomann not long back...? £5k or something similar. My guess a cancelled order. There's a lot of Private stock that is freakishly odd - but then there's some pretty odd folk out there! It's an incredilble bass but that has been well and truly battered by the fugly stick - but then I don't like purple basses anyway. If you want so see how utterly gorgeous these can be, go to the PRS website, go to Private stock and check out #1607 - Drop dead gorgeous! The person that ordered the OP one here should be taken outside and fed to the poor....... Edited March 27, 2011 by The Burpster Quote
chrismuzz Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Pretty ugly. Do t in black, and get rid of all the knobs and you've got a nice looking bass Quote
Soloshchenko Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I hate it but often feel that way about how PRS stuff looks. Saying that I nearly had to cast that aside once when playing a cheap s/h CE guitar because it was such an incredible thing. Sounded better and played better than anything I've ever played. I didn't buy it in the end. Quote
WHUFC BASS Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Is that the price in the bottom right hand corner of the tag ? Quote
tommorichards Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 It seems like it was designed for a guitarist who wants to dabble in bass. All of the above that apply to how ugly it is. But now i feel bad for the bass because its being called ugly. What about the ugly duckling..... Quote

Low End Bee Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Wouldn't look out of place in Tina Turner's house. Quote
Golchen Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Not for me. If the neck wasn't the blue finish I could almost bear it. Quote
