By a strange coincidence, I had one of those wine/Youtube/ELO/acoustic guitar hours only last night!

I remember it on top of the pops in 1973 when i was 8 years old. The ELO version of course has the musical quote from Beethoven's 5th at the begining.

Isn't that great ? a mix of classical and pop ! The whole tone decending scale is just the cherry on the cake - mixing in prog rock too. How off the wall is that ?

Whole tone scale was of course also used by Rod Argent in 'Hold Your Head Up' from the same era.
