Bass to computer input

Im looking for something, some sort of box via USB, not direct into the audio in, to record some of my bass with. Is there anything out there that fits the bill? Ideally, id like to have my bass playing out my amp as well as into the computer.

Audacity is good free recording software.

I used to have a Tascam which was pretty good, there are loads out there, depends on your budget.

Although it becomes achingly slow and a bit unstable when dealing with long track transformations. Great, and indeed free, for hacking about without effects in software though. Just be a little wary of heavy editing and effecting in it.
