ezbass
RP certainly seems to have had a penchant for good bass lines, often played by bass greats. Sadly missed.
Len_derby
I always loved his records. I think 'Riptide' was my favourite album. The first time I saw him was in the early '70's in a band called Vinegar Joe. It had two lead singers, Robert Palmer and Elkie Brooks. Brilliant. steverickwood
Right - I posted this vid on facebook a while back because it is a great song, and the fretless playing wonderful; I know a fair bit about who played bass on what but I'm not sure about this one. Someone suggested Guy Pratt but I'm sure he would have mentioned this one in his book? Anyone know? I could hit google but I'm sure there's more savvy surfers out there than me! I don't know who it is on that track. Robert Palmer's albums are full of great musicians.
steverickwood
Cool - I'll work from there! Yes - he always was sure to have top players. Always seemed totally comfortable doing his own thing in music - respect!
