Just picked up a Peavey DPC 1400X power amp to go along with my, soon to arrive sansamp RBI, anyone have any experience of them? Quite looking forward to have blast of me new acquisitions!

Not had any experience with the Peavey but as far as i know the RBI is a rack version of the Bass Driver DI. If so then it's great for a tubey, warm, scooped sound. Pretty much most rock and metal players swear by them, along with a lot more! You can get some very nice overdrives with it too!

I had the BDDI a while back I liked it but moved it on so I'm hoping its more of the same, I was looking at the Peavey IPR 1600 which is incredibly lightweight but I didn't really want to shell out too much cash as I'm hoping to buy the RPM at some point and the DPC 1400X came up. Not as light as the IPR but only takes up 1 slot in a rack which is great but appears to be very deep.

Wont get it till the weekend, what reviews I can find are good, but info seems quite sparse.

Peavey stuff is very reliable from my own experiences, and what I've heard from everyone who's used it. You should be more than happy with it. About the lack of info thing, that always puts me in two minds about things no matter how good the reviews. I am getting some Seymour Duncan pickups soon and am having that very dilemma. I've decided to just wait until they arrive. Unless it's a boutique piece of equipment it's easily shiftable in the rare event that it's no good :)

Cheers Gareth I was looking at the IPR 1600 which I believe you had, while obsessively checking ebay and the amp popped up and from a bloke I'd bought something off before and it was local so all good.

They seem to have a few fans but are appear to be thin on the ground, so I'm quite pleased, must have been quite the hi tech thang in it's day

I have that exact set-up!
I put my RBI into one side of the DPX1400 and the RPM into the other side, each to their own 600W 2x12 cab! :)

Sounds MONSTROUS!!

Enjoy!

Do you not need a license for that setup? :)

Nice one I'm glad I'm in good company, I've still to get the RPM I might just bite the bullet and buy it new, but don't tempt we with 2X12 cabs I'm too old to be humphing gear!

Mate, with these cabs: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=128890 humping gear isn't a problem!
