noelk27
Higher price than standard SB-R60 due to colour and limited "Elite" line.
Both the R60 and the Elite I were 18/40 versions of the SB700. The R60 was in production between '80 and '83, and the Elite I between '83 and '88, so it's hard to argue that the Elite I is more limited than the R60. Also, the Elite series (including Black N Gold) were marketed directly at US customers, it was distributor preference whether to take limited batches of Elites for the EU or not, and believe me - not many did. Gigsville in the UK imported a tens of Elites compared to scores of SB-R60s, -80s and set-neck SB600 because solid colour basses, at the time, were not selling so well in the UK. So, ergo, it is rather straight forward to argue that the SB Elite I/II's are rarer in the UK, actually... (I bought mine from Japan!)
