mike f Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 1972? Mine starts with 41 serial number and I thought it was from 1973/74. Quote
Ou7shined Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011
This Guitar is fitted with EMG pickups.
Where's the battery? Quote
mike f Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 With EMGs it will fit under the control plate. Bit of a squeeze, mind. Quote
Ou7shined Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011
Aren't some EMGs passive.
Yep - but not any that deserve to be in a vintage. Quote
Happy Jack Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Actually, I was particularly taken with the main description: Musical Instrument Quote
Clarky Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011
Actually, I was particularly taken with the main description: Musical Instrument
At least he is not a scammer then, its 100% accurate! FYI, I bought a 72 Jazz last year (now owned by HiPeri0n) and it came with passive EMGs - I suspect they were a common mod. I bought some vintage correct p/ups and re-installed but wasn't a cheap exercise Quote
Cat Burrito Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I'd have listed it For Sale instead of just Musical Instrument Quote
Ou7shined Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited)
At least he is not a scammer then, its 100% accurate!...
Depends on who's playing it. edit : Oh and (having tried to squeeze active EMGs in a jazz myself) my original comment on the battery was more about what may possibly be hiding under the p/g. Tis ebay after all. Edited March 28, 2011 by Ou7shined Quote
iconic Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I thought that would be a late 74 as well http://www.guitarnucleus.com/fenderserial.html Quote
