This guy gives a lot of info for the beginner even includes helpful pics showing ways you can hold the bass.
I like the last pic best ,kinda "off the shoulder" look.

Does he think all the details about how crap it was and what he had to do to make it playable makes it more desirable? My first thought is, how long before it goes back banana shaped? Anyway, if I've bought it (unlikely admittedly) I'll do anything with the truss rod I damn well please. So there.

yeah you're right ,just an interesting approach i never saw before....
not so sure about his body wood description on this one though, are these really perhaps mahogany bodies?

Do you think he thinks they are broken so he sells them on because he doesn't realise they need to be plugged in?

Doing a setup and moving on is cool, entry level basses with a good set up are really good for people starting out. I try and offer free/cheap setups to people starting out, but kind of hard to do without people 'making the fun'.

I have met Mr Foxen and this guy couldn't look more different if he tried,

I recommend a trip to the house that DOOM built to anyone.

I have offered him £50 on the basis he spent £100 then knocked off 50% of the value.

I think its more his curious photography, certainly no 'point and laugh'. To his credit he seems genuine enough with his descriptions, its simply his apparent need to get in the picture when he sells something that I find a little odd.

Christ, look at the state of the bridge on that "7" string.

I certainly wouldn't trust someone that couldn't set up a bridge to do neck shims, change electrics (it sounds like he's removed a coil from the humbucker, not actually changed the pickup) and the like.

I wouldnt trust this bloke as far as I could spit. If you read the adds they are 'flowered up' with "fender this" and "fender that". "A nice set of new strings from the US" Woopy, they could be any old crap. Funny how he gets all vaige then! Hes an amateur trying to make out he knows what hes talking about. If he a chancer trying to pass of 'set up' crap to 'starter' players since by definition they would fall for all that 'fender this / fender that' boll@xs he talks. By saying "Please dont touch the truss rod since it took ages for me to get it flat" is either saying a) One more 1/4 turn and that baby's going to go bang big style or :) your a 14 year old kid and you dont know what your buying but Im the expert so give me your money (but dont tell your dad).
