dave_bass5 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 As i seem to be messing about with pups at the moment i need to get some more sponge or foam. I'll probably use an old mouse mat so im not asking what to use, but rather if there are any advantages to using Biro springs (for example) over the normal sponge stuff. Cheers. Quote
Ou7shined Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I pretty much just use foam all the time now (less fiddling about) but I find that if you are doing a lot of setting up and trying different things, springs are better as they let the pups "spring" up to your optimal position quicker than foam which can take a couple of minutes to reach full firmness. Jerry_B Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I use springs and foam - best of both worlds then. If you overpack the level of foam a bit it helps to keep a bit a spring in it too. Quote

tommorichards Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I started using old hose pipe for a "spring" . Although i think 1" rubber hosing is supposed to be better. Old hose pipe for me is better than rolled up cardboard. Springs are too bouncy. Quote
