Eight
I've listened to a few recordings of Johnny Cash singing Big River, and I can't actually make out anything resembling a bass line. I know there is one... (and I'll probably either go with a stock Root-5 thing or follow the Highwaymen's version)... but thought I'd post on the off-chance someone has better equipment and some clue what is actually being played. Cheers if you can help. Cheers anyway if you read this and thought about it. No cheers if you didn't read it - it had Johnny Cash in the topic title, what more do you want!?!?!
wateroftyne
Just had a listen here, and like virtually all JC's stuff, it's R5 all the way.
Eight
That's great - you've come to my rescue again. Thanks mate! I love Cash - only one bassline to learn to cover the entire back catalogue.
The Bass Doc
When I'm due some money I much prefer it be Johnny Cash rather than Jeff Beck. (sometimes the bass player is just going R.R. rather than R5). Edited April 5, 2011 by The Bass Doc
