Monckyman Posted April 5, 2011 Share Posted April 5, 2011 Hello all, I just joined this forum. I`ve been playing bass since 1980 and started on a borrowed Framus which had a nicely bent neck. I then progressed to double bass (it was the time of the rockabilly revival..)before finally buying a Vox standard bass for about £200.I amplified this with an Ohm head and a nondescript 1x15. Big bucks to me at the time. I played in various setups around the northwest playing all sorts of soulsucking gigs till about 1997 when I gave up the ghost and went over to the dark side.(sound engineer). In the past year I`ve had an overwhelming compulsion to start playing again, so I ressurrected the Vox (stolen by my daughter) ,and bought a cheap double bass. I recently added to this with an ashdown abm 500 1x15 combo. I look forward to ransacking your archives in the quest for some good tips and advice and would like to say thanks for accepting my membership. Dave.
