buff Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Recently replaced my struggling blue speaker's in my ashdown abm 2x10 with a pair of celestion neo's, the weight saving alone was worth it. But im finding theres a slight buzz coming from the speakers (sounding blown ) the input jack's are mainly plastic. Worth cleaning them or replacing with something better ? Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Make sure there's a really good seal around the speakers and they're screwed down tight. If there's a gasket missing or a bad air seal they can sound farty when pushed. This could happen when changing to a different make of speaker... Quote
icastle Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Check the little braided wires that run from the speaker terminals to the cone, give them a little push with your finger to move them slightly - they can sometimes vibrate against the cone. Quote
buff Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 No connecter's, soldered join's like the original speaker's Quote

If you look at the solder join you'll see a little wire that runs off to the cardboard speaker cone. Those are the little wires you need to poke. [attachment=76938:speaker.JPG] Quote
buff Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 Well guessed moonbassalpha, fitted the speaker's in a hurry to get to a gig the other week. All now sealed up Quote
