I have exact same spec 2010 Ric that i bought from paulie about 3 months ago. I don't know about older Rics, but the quality and playability of mine is fantastic. It took me a while to get used of a wider neck, different balancing, finger positioning and thumpier sound than my skinny Jazz necks, but it was worth it. I really enjoyed your review. Thanks for posting it.

Once I bought a white fretless Rick from soundslive, couldnt work out where the notes were so I sent it back but it was one of the most beautiful basses Ive ever had in my hands.

+1 for the review

Absolutely cracking bass :) - I know you had your heart set on a Burgundyglo but you just can't beat a Jetglo; I used to have a '73 JG 4001, much missed, and have loved them ever since seeing Gaye Advert attached to one. Hope it makes up for all the faffing about last year with the 3-way deal that almost happened (but didn't .... :) )

Great review too, it made me look at my 2005 MG 4003FL with a less jaundiced eye - I have an irrational predjudice against "new" basses, but the 4003 seems to be fundamentally a better bass than the 4001. Just needs the right strings to bring out its best I reckon.

Enjoy - what amp are you putting it through?

Edit - SVT 5 - pro, just saw your sig. Class.

Shaggy - ah yeah, the dea lthat never happened.... a shame... but this bass is so damn good the blow of it not being the *perfect* colour for me has been softened :)
