SS73 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 So cool, JG is just......., you don't see the Walnut wings but we know they're there Quote
Mr Fudge Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I have exact same spec 2010 Ric that i bought from paulie about 3 months ago. I don't know about older Rics, but the quality and playability of mine is fantastic. It took me a while to get used of a wider neck, different balancing, finger positioning and thumpier sound than my skinny Jazz necks, but it was worth it. I really enjoyed your review. Thanks for posting it. Quote

bajistaman Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Once I bought a white fretless Rick from soundslive, couldnt work out where the notes were so I sent it back but it was one of the most beautiful basses Ive ever had in my hands. +1 for the review Quote
Shaggy Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) Absolutely cracking bass - I know you had your heart set on a Burgundyglo but you just can't beat a Jetglo; I used to have a '73 JG 4001, much missed, and have loved them ever since seeing Gaye Advert attached to one. Hope it makes up for all the faffing about last year with the 3-way deal that almost happened (but didn't .... ) Great review too, it made me look at my 2005 MG 4003FL with a less jaundiced eye - I have an irrational predjudice against "new" basses, but the 4003 seems to be fundamentally a better bass than the 4001. Just needs the right strings to bring out its best I reckon. Enjoy - what amp are you putting it through? Edit - SVT 5 - pro, just saw your sig. Class. Edited April 12, 2011 by Shaggy Quote
Stag Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) hehe, once again ty all for the comments regarding the review, glad people found it good/useful? Shaggy - ah yeah, the dea lthat never happened.... a shame... but this bass is so damn good the blow of it not being the *perfect* colour for me has been softened Edited April 12, 2011 by Stag Quote
