paddoxbass Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014
I wonder if anyone on here bought this? I'm not usually a big fan of Buck Eye but this is gorgeous http://www.bassdirec...05_Buckeye.html
Hi. I see it's only taken me a couple of years to find this thread...late to the party as ever! I'm pleased to say, this gnarly SKB is mine and is working very hard in theatres - a crime, I know, as it spends much of its time in the dark of the pit. The noise boys love it as it's a very clean signal and it sounds of wood rather than electronics. Just to up the porn stakes - here is its brother, a Century fretless 5 with a Koa top. Also a fabulous instrument which I love taking out when the job calls for it. Quote
Rumple Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 What a lovely pair you have! I adore your SKB, maybe you could post some more pics of it at some point? Welcome to basschat Quote

Rumple Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Apologies for going slightly off topic but I think it's for a good reason I once owned an ORANGE Roscoe Century Std 5 string Serial# A087, I sold it on Basschat but can't remember who to, I've recently found the letter that came with it when it was new in 2009 and thought the owner might like it, if you have it or know who has it then drop me a PM so I can send them the letter if they want it. Cameronj279 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Wow Kev! Am I right in thinking that's the short scale that was on here? Never tried a Roscoe unfortunately but always loved the sound of the LG3005 when listening to them on YouTube. Quote

Bobthedog Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) And here is mine. Poor mobile phone shot. Century Signature V with Aguilera DCB and OBP-3. Born in 2014 for the NAMM Winter show and has been with Bass Direct since then until I bought it on Saturday. I cannot believe it has hung around for so long. ambient Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Had this a couple of weeks now. I've not had a lot of time to play it, and just had one gig. But I have to say, I'm extremely pleased with it. Quote

pantherairsoft Posted March 11, 2021 Author Posted March 11, 2021 It's been a while, but this thread need resurrecting! After an extended stint of having no basses, let alone any Roscoes (I had five at one time!?), life has begun to get itself back on track. I've been playing a Yammy TRB to keep my going while I considered my next purchase, then this came up and I couldn't resist. It's been here in my hands for a few days and I can't put it down. LG5 Custom (2007 model, immaculate) Lightweight mahogany body Exhibition-grade quilted maple top Trans cordovan gloss red finish Maple/purpleheart/maple Neck Spalted purpleheart fretboard Bart pups Aguilar OBP-3 Preamp Black hardware (ebony control knobs, graphtech nut) Strung with Black Beauties, because the black and red combo is stunning Sorry about the glare on the pics... one of those annoying days, plus it's a REALLY high-gloss finish. 4 Quote

Turns out 1) there was sod all there! and 2) you'd already bought it! Darn it I was too slow.....but happy its gone to a good member here. 👍 I used to have a very similar one and a friend persuaded me to sell it to them during one of my "not that bright" moments Here's a pic of my old one and hope you have lots of fun with yours 😁 They are excellent basses. 2 Quote
