Lozz196 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I just think that can`t be right. Nowhere near what it should be going for. In cases where an instrument like this is a bargain, it`s usually either seriously under-priced as the seller has come into possession of it and has no idea of it`s true worth, thinking it`s old, so won`t fetch much, in such cases it therefore being genuine, or someone is pulling a fast one and the item is similar to a pair of Kevin Klein jeans. warwickhunt Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 When someone knows enough to be quoting 'Tadeo Gomez' yet still prices at £3k, I smell a rat! Quote
wesfinn Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 a couple of things stand out to me as a bit iffy: 1)no dowels on the rear of the bass where the template was fixed for pin routing 2)looks like the body is possibly joined in the centre (might just be the grain though, but does look like a centre join to me) Never know though as the pictures are pretty rubbish. you;d definitely have to view this and take it apart before parting with your money! Schnozzalee Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 That looks awful, are you all thinking of the money to be made if you restore it or something? Sometimes vintage instruments are just a write off for me. Quote
