dirtystatic
I've heard that to get the best out of the dists/ODs, it's advisable to mix the processed signal with your clean tone to retain the bottom end. How exactly would you go about doing that?
TomTFS
Buy a Boss LS2. or http://www.bargeconcepts.com/vfb1.html or http://www.xotic.us/effects/x_blender/ Depending how much money you have, and what options you need. I just use mine for effects and get any dirt from elsewhere. Just doesn't really sound right to me. Edited April 12, 2011 by TomTFS
dirtystatic
How would you wire that up? I'd like it so one signal path is solely the wet out put of the Line 6, then at the press of the button you get the wet output + clean straight from the bass. I've been squiggling diagrams and I can't work it out!
tayste_2000
Don't believe everything that you read, believe what you hear. I had no issues with the Facial Fuzz infact at one point it caused me to sell off all my boutique fuzz pedals. Tube comp makes a great phat boost and there are plenty of other great gain sounds in there that don't need to be blended
dirtystatic
I don't own the M9 yet but I'm off to buy one this weekend. Wondered whether it was worth picking up an LS-2 whilst I was there. I know this has probably been discussed on here before, but someone who's going to be using only a couple of FX at a time, it's best to get the M9 over the M13, right? If I were to run a comp and a dist would I only have one FX slot left? Edited April 12, 2011 by dirtystatic
Jarhead
I've never really wanted to do any sort of blending with my M9, as I feel the distortions and the effects as a whole are all great. My only problem with it is the lack of some sort of global volume control.
tayste_2000
M13 is the better pedal if it's going to be your only pedal and you really like to experiment. M9 is great if you just want it as part of your board as like you say once you run a comp all the time you don't have a lot else to play with. Personally I have an M13 and then small boutique pedalboards. M9 is very cool though as it's very small compared to the M13 but they serve different functions, I had both for a while then sold the M13, then sold the M9 then rebought the M13. I use it at home to experiment with fx while my band board is pretty much set in stone, this covers everything else and prevents future purchases. M5 looks fun though
dirtystatic
So it's either three M5s, two M9s or one M13... I reckon the M9 will be dandy, I'm thinking it'll stop me from getting too carried away. One last question, how's everyone getting best results? Running it into the amp or through the FX loop? tayste_2000
Straight into the amp it's not designed to go in the fx loop
