chipmunk_jr Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I am currently rebuilding my Yamaha RBX 270 and I don't really know enough about pickups to buy new ones. The current ones on my bass are dieing and needing to be replaced. Any suggestions on what I should buy? Thx Quote
Doctor J Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Pickups have probably the biggest influence on the sound of your bass and vary greatly from manuacturer to manufacturer and model to model, what kind of sound are you looking for? Quote

chrismuzz Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 A lot of metal players use EMG's, or you could go with EMG PJHZ passive pickups if you don't want to mess around with active pickups/batteries and whatnot. Seymour Duncan pickups are mighty tasty too! More expensive options are available, but I'd definately start there. Quote
