Col Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I have the DVD, it's great. Highly recommended for anyone interested in getting good with a pick. Quote
tonyf Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 An absolute monster player is our Bobby. A right dazzler with a pick! Quote
lowdown Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Agreed with all - and some more agreement. Garry Quote

Conan Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Amazing. I don't think of him as a "pick player", just a great player. What a talent! Quote

M-N-Y Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 This guy is one of the all time greats in my book. I can't believe how funky his lines are. Truly awesome. Quote
Hector Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Love what I've seen of him on youtube etc. - I already do a similar palm mute thing (usually picking with thumb and index/middle fingers, but starting to use the pick more), but this guy's on another level! Can anyone recommend me some classic records with Bobby on? Probably have a bunch without even realising it.... Quote
M-N-Y Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I know he recorded some classic Sly and the Family Stone tracks when he was about 16. Have a listen to 'I get high on you' for a good example of the pick and muting technique you refer to. Cheers, Mark. Quote
daz Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Didnt he have a junkie brother called Vincent, who was shot in the bathroom ? Quote
