chuck_stones
After months of trying, I just can't seem to get the bassline for this down. The part I'm stuck on is the main riff where it goes to the G and plays a few ghost notes. No matter how many times i listen to it, I just cant work out the timing/groove for it. Any suggestions? His playing is sublime. He's got so much groove and plays it impeccably, but I've watched it a hundred times and still can't figure out what he's actually playing. It's just those 16th notes on the G and octave that I can't get the timing for. As soon as he comes to the G part, he seems to play all 16th notes with lots of ghost notes but I can't for the life of me get it right It's driving me nuts! Pete Academy
I used to play this in a previous band. The bass player on the track was T.M. Stevens, and it's his typical style. It's a difficult line to master - loads of ghost notes on the G part. The guy in the vid seems to have nailed it. Keep at it.

I've heard this before on YT but never noticed it as obviously as this! Edited April 13, 2011 by molan
peteb
Guy Pratt’s take on the main riff (and a few other disco classics): http://www.youtube.com/user/DavidSinRocks#...f/1/T_3Jc54k1Es

JPS
Brilliant track and bassline. You've got me trying - and failing miserably - to play it now.
