bajistaman
Does anyone have tried these stands? http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...ini_Stands.html I'm wondering if they are ok for a jazz bass type of bass, considering the base is not symetrical. Thanks, Johann
Paul S
I have one and although ok-ish for symmetrical basses it wasn't any use for my Fender Jaguar, which had an assymetric shape a bit like a Jazz. It has never struck me as being particularly secure, though, and I have pretty well stopped using it.
rOB
Yes I have one. My bass (Schecter C4) has a non symetrical heal (?) and it works fine. Folds down really small Having said that I can't say for sure that the Schecter has the same shape heal as your jazz
dave_bass5
Ive got two and while they will hold my Jazz bass it sits at a slight angle. it feels secure enough but looks silly no stage.
umcoo
I use one of these and have used a Jazz on them. As mentioned, a Jazz will have to sit a bit to the side to fit on, but I've never thought of these as not secure or looking silly on stage. A stand is a stand...not meant to look beautiful. The fold down nice a slim too.
BigRedX
I have one. Fine for symmetrical-bodied guitars. Every bass I've tried with it has leaned back at far to extreme an angle for me to consider it safe for use, symmetrical-bodied or not. EssentialTension
Less stable with a J than with a P and no good if anyone is crashing round the stage but I've been using them for about a year with no accidents so far.
arsenic
I have one, and it works fine for my telecaster at home, but a bass didn't seem too secure on it.
bajistaman
Thanks, it looks like I'll keep on using my auto grab stand, it is very secure but is the only thing when I carry my gear that doesnt have a place to be, bass guitar on my back, bass head on my neck, pedal board on my left hand and cabinet on my right :-) http://www.herculesstands.co.uk/product/GS414B
poptart
Hi All The mini stands are okay for Offset shaped basses, I feel it is a little unsafe - I recommend the 414 or 412B stands for a safer and total stable stand - love 'em ;-) Mark
pantherairsoft
I bought one of these from Mark. It's fine for slipping in the bag for gigs etc an suits my Roscoe and GB fine, some odd shaped basses don't like them though and just won't sit well at all. Like mark suggests... If you have space etc for a full stand I'd suggest it.

Thanks, Johann
The Jazz bass sits pretty well on that stand, just slightly offset or tilted. The thing with these small stands are that if someone hits the bass it's not as well protected as on a stand that holds the bass at the neck too, with big wide legs, and the Jazz is a *bit* less stable on the small stand than a Precision, for instance. But it works well, within the limitations of a small stand. I have one of them.
