Mr Fudge Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I have been a TP fan for nearly 30 years and never realised that he started as a bass player. I got hold of his Mudcrutch album where he is the bass player with a reverse headstock "Macca" type Ric. Massively got back into TP inthe last few months. This is fantastic. [/quote] Though I used to enjoy ELO in my distant youth, I must concur. Every album he produces sounds like "a Jeff Lynne production". IMO, his work on Petty, Harrison and Orbison's solo efforts sucked everything good out of the room and shunted the artist to sideman status. Imagine my joy at the news of a new Joe Walsh album. And the sinking feeling when I read "to be produced by Jeff Lynne". God spare us. And don't even get me started on Dave Stewart's work on TP's Southern Accents. I'd still like a fireglo 650/12, though. Edited April 14, 2011 by skankdelvar Quote
Cat Burrito Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I think his playing is bang on the money. This thread has it all for me - Dylan, McGuinn & I loved the Wilburys too Quote
ezbass Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 The combination of Petty, Campbell & Tench is just the best no matter what band they're in. Quote
