Buying machine heads.

Hi, guys. I'm having a new neck made and am considering getting new machine heads, rather than reuse the old ones: other than aesthetics, what do I need to consider? Do the different-sized posts make any difference to anything?

These are very similar to those on my Fender Zone - I've never had any problems with them!!

To be fair though it's virtually lived in it's case since I bought it so these haven't had the most strenuous road test!!

I've got the M4s on both my VCs and on my Jaydee - can't be faulted IMO..

I'd found Touchstone before I saw your link, TG; in fact, I came back to post about them. Considerably cheaper than the usual suspects and brilliant service. Highly recommended.

I can't comment on those ones but I have fitted the Hipshots and agree that lightweight is the way to go, as it makes for a better balanced bass.
